  1. 97% Water
    • 97% Water

    • 2% Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) - located in gray bin above fire cabinet

    • ~1% Sodium Metasilicate - located in fire cabinet

  2. Figure out 2% of the final solution for NaOH Remember to double the amount of NaOH because it is 50% concentration

    • Use a flat spoonful of Sodium Metasilicate per 1000 mL

  3. Pour NaOH and Sodium Metasilicate into large beaker (2000 mL)
    • Pour NaOH and Sodium Metasilicate into large beaker (2000 mL)

    • Fill the rest of the beaker with water from sink

    • Stir until the Sodium Metasilicate dissolves

    • Add to storage container
