Ten sheets of plain white 8.5 x 11 printer paper

On the touchpad tap maintenance > printheads > align

Open the top cover

Open the agent door and take the alignment plate from inside the door

Each printer has one alignment plate. The number on the plate should match the number on the door

Put the alignment plate on the build platform and push it down as far as it will go. The HP logo on the plate should be facing up on the left of the build build chamber

Load one sheet of paper on top of the alignment plate, using the guides at the upper right corner for correct placement

Close the top cover and tap Print on the touchpad

Open the top cover and remove the test print

Check the printed test page. Lines on the test pages should be straight and continuous. Check the HP Knowledge Base page 138 for an example

Load another sheet of paper on top of the alignment plate

Close the top cover and tap Print to print the first alignment page
-
Open the top cover and remove the alignment page

Push the cover of scanner drawer B4 to release and open the drawer

Open the scanner paper input and paper output trays to prepare the scanner for use

Load the first alignment page face-down on the scanner input tray

When paper is detected an LED will turn on

Tap Scan on the touchpad

Repeat Step 4 and 5 seven more times

When the last page has been scanned, remove all alignment pages and close the paper trays

Push in the scanner drawer to close it

Load another sheet of paper onto the alignment plate

Close the top cover and tap Print

A second test page is printed to confirm printhead alignment. Lines on the test pages should be straight, continuous, and the same color

Remove the alignment plate, and store it inside the agent doo

Close the agent door and close the top cover
