Approved AFL Guide Approval Process

Introduction

After every print excess powder fuses and crusts onto the fusing lamp. This needs to be scraped off in between every print.

  1. The razor/scraper will be on the inside of the agent door You will need a Texpad which is located in the Connex Cabinet

  2. When prompted on the touchpad, open the top cover.
    • When prompted on the touchpad, open the top cover.

    • Pull the fusing carriage to the center of the build chamber.

    • Inspect the top and sides of the fusing carriage. If you see any material, use the vacuum cleaner to remove it

  3. Pull the lamp release handle to disengage the lamp module from the printer Lift the lamp handle and rotate the lamp to the left, then push to lock it into the cleaning position
    • Pull the lamp release handle to disengage the lamp module from the printer

    • Lift the lamp handle and rotate the lamp to the left, then push to lock it into the cleaning position

    • The lamp will fall easily so make sure it is secure

  4. Use a glass scraper with a metal razor to scrape any fused material from the fusing lamp glass.

    • This will take many attempts

    • Wipe off the build up on the razor with the Texpad dampened with IPA

    • Use a TexPad dampened with IPA to finish cleaning the fusing lamp

    • Pull the lamp to release it from its locked cleaning position, then rotate the lamp back to the right

    • It is easy to drop be careful

    • Push the lamp release handle back into place to connect the lamp module to the printer

    • Close the top cover
